Calling all children and kids at heart!  Join us for a great day of arts and crafts and the People's Place Library in Antigonish.  This is a drop in events so feel free to come and go as you please.  We are going to be having all kinds of activities including kite making, murals, sun prints, make your own buttons, play dough and so much more. This week are please to present two documentaries on women's issues at the All Of Us Society Of Arts Presentation gallery space, 319 Main Street, Antigonish (the back entrance).  The videos are extremely powerful, insightful commentaries that educate and leave you questioning how influential media and advertising are on self-esteem, self-worth with their constant  promotion of a rape and misogynistic culture

We look forward to seeing you and having your join the conversation. Admission is free, but the knowledge is invaluable.

Art Exhibition A Great Success!

Our first event was a great success.  We opened the art exhibition, "This is what a feminist looks like," to more than fifty art lovers who came out to support our event.  I also live streamed the exhibition in a Google + Hangout where more than 50 people from around the world came to join the conversation and view the art work.

Here is our poster that lists upcoming events through out the summer in Antigonish.  The next event, a Mini Farmers Market, will be held in Chisholm Park, July 6, 2:00-6:00 p.m (July 8 Rain date) and promotes tourism, culture and awareness for the Resisting Violence: Women and Girls Take Action project.

If there are any vendors that would like to participate please call us at 863-6221, it is free and only requires you to bring your own table. See you there!

Welcome to Feminist Fridays, a series of events that will take place in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.  These events will celebrate gender equality, awareness, community and breaking the barriers while creating change.

Our first event will be a community art exhibition that celebrates gender equality called, "This Is What A Feminist Looks Like."

June 15th, 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the People's Place Library.  Immediately following we will be having a feminist film screen and discussion at the All-Of-Us Society for Art Presentation gallery space, located at 319 Main Street, Rear Entrance.

Please spread the word; tell your children, friends, family members and colleagues.  This is a great way to make social change, have a discussion and express yourself visually.

Submission forms and art work can be dropped off at the ASAP Gallery.  Please save the PDF to your desktop.  Thank you.
